Helping you to reach your full potential

MY STORY

I am Helen Turner, an established EMDR and trauma-focused therapist offering specialised support for individuals recovering from PTSD, childhood trauma, relationship trauma, medical trauma, and highly stressful life events. My practice, Turner Counselling, is located in the heart of Marylebone, just off Manchester Square, close to Harley street.

I draw on my expertise in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma-informed counselling, and integrative therapeutic approaches to help clients process unresolved memories, reduce symptoms, and rebuild emotional stability. I have worked with a wide range of clients, including those facing long-standing trauma patterns, recent traumatic incidents, and high-functioning individuals experiencing burnout or emotional overwhelm.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and client-led. I prioritise emotional safety, attunement, and empowerment throughout the therapy process. I am committed to continual professional development and maintain a strong ethical and reflective practice.

Counselling & EMDR

Face to face or online counselling is available providing space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. I offer professional support to help clients navigate life's challenges and work towards personal growth and well-being. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or any other concern.

Supervision

Clinical supervision provides counsellors with a supportive environment to reflect on their practice, enhance their skills, and ensure ethical standards are met.

I offer guidance, feedback, and insight to help counsellors grow professionally, ultimately benefiting their clients.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a widely recognised, clinically researched, psychotherapy approach used to effectively treat trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, along with other distressing issues .

This innovative technique is focused on reducing the impact of past traumas and supporting the brain's natural healing abilities.

Throughout an EMDR session, clients engage in bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, while revisiting past events. This process aids in lessening negative emotions and reworking traumatic memories, leading to decreased distress and improved emotional wellness. EMDR is a valuable tool for individuals looking to overcome previous trauma, particularly those dealing with PTSD,  with the aim of enhancing overall mental well-being.

Through EMDR, individuals can embark on a journey towards healing and resilience, paving the way for a brighter and more balanced future.

Supervision

Clinical supervision provides a structured and supportive space for counsellors to reflect on their practice, receive feedback, and enhance their professional development. I offer guidance and insight to help counsellors navigate challenging cases, ethical dilemmas, and personal growth within their work.

Through the process of clinical supervision, counsellors can deepen their self-awareness, improve their therapeutic skills, and ensure the highest standard of care for their clients. Supervision sessions encourage self-reflection, exploration of different interventions, and the opportunity to discuss complex cases in a collaborative and constructive manner.
